CAMPAIGN FOR BROCKLEY MARKET

The Campaign for Brockley Market is lobbying Lewisham Council to set up a small street market in the Brockley Cross area. We believe that Brockley Cross is lacking in shops selling fresh produce at competitive prices, and a market would help remedy this. It could also add vitality to the area, and encourage people to spend more of their shopping money locally.

We have carried out a survey with questionnaires returned from over 200 Brockley households. These have shown a high level of support for the idea of Brockley Market. We are proposing two possible sites for the market: either the north end of Foxberry Road, by the Brockley Barge pub, or the stretch of wide pavement outside the Royal Mail sorting office on Brockley Road. We will shortly be presenting our proposals and survey findings to Lewisham Council in the form of a report.
