Brockley Max - 29th May to 7th June

The Brockley Max festival drew to a close on 7th June and the success of this year’s festival was a tribute to the community spirit in Brockley and also down to no little help from generally great weather over the 10 days of The Max. Over forty events of music, art, dance, film, comedy and workshops attracted all ages and sections of the community; from children at ‘Art in the Park’, to grandmothers enjoying an evening of classical music or festival-goers enjoying tasty Caribbean food at the three-day jamboree organised at Hilly Fields. As organiser Moira Tait put it, “Wow! What a great festival this year. We have had a great response from the local community and the variety of events and venues has really been a big plus in creating a real community festival. A big thanks to all residents and volunteers who helped with making Brockley Max 2009 such a success.” Brockley Max will be back in 2010 with the aim to be even bigger and better!
